Much has been said about QBC. The storied franchise is one of the few double owner teams left. Â Some have questioned their passion for the QFL. After all, rarely have they taken advantage of critical, very-QFL type options like QFLE.
But, this past auction, the entire QFL was shocked. It seemed that QBC got it. Co-owner Ian was on time for the auction (major breakthrough), he mastered the auction technology before 10 other teams, and he seemed to have a draft strategy. When challenged by other QFL’rs, co-owner Jim immediately squashed his opposition with nifty, tried and true bald jokes against Seth and good old fashioned smack talk.
Well, just when we thought QBC turned the corner, they go and do something like this. Check out this text exchange between QBC and Rishi. What does it show? Pure hilariousness.
First, QBC tried to trade a player it no longer has.
Second, QBC tried to prey on a team suffering from the Gordon suspension, a team not involved in this correspondence.
Third, QBC should “the exact opposite of mastery” of the waiver wire system when they were confused why their bid on Randle, who is a waiver wire pick up, was not accepted.
Fourth, QBC attempted to pass off this whole exchange with a shoulder shrug, as if it was not completely ludicrous.
Finally, all though the correspondence does not necessarily prove it, there is no doubt that QBC was unaware of the rule that you had to be salary/roster compliant to trade.
Hi QBC. it’s good to see you again.
QBC: I have a bridge I want to sell you if youre interested
real estate mogul: sure, which one
QBC: the Manhattan bridge
mogul: are you sure you own it
QBC: you can obviously disregard my offer because I don’t own the bridge
Ian, are you interested in trading for Adrian Peterson? I had him a couple years ago.
