#QFL Shocker! Brees & Foster Waived

QSN has confirmed with Commissioner Rishi that waiver claims will run as usual next Tuesday night and tiebreaking is set to RANDOM. Should be an interesting pre-season as many predict Scott’s move will

cause a cascade effect to take hold as other teams waive their high priced players to make salary cap room after acquiring one of these high priced guys. Neither are expected to clear waivers which is why this move is so puzzling. The only way it makes some sense is if Scott was positive they would clear waivers. But there is still also a substantial risk of not getting them back cheaper in free agency. Scott is one of the best fantasy managers there is, so this move merits some further investigation if we assume it wasn’t hackers or a disgruntled wife (my guess).

First thing is take a look at who’s in the market for a QB and you could understand where SOQ might feel the risk/reward is there for Brees. Three teams are out because they have no need (TenQ, Inquincables, QBola). Four teams should be in the market but definitely won’t because they are poorly run or Redskins homers or both (FRNQ, FahQ, QU and QBC). The four remaining teams have decent QBs at good values. The one team that poses somewhat of a threat to place a waiver claim is OrigQ who has Brady, Kaepernick, Bortles and Tannehill for $19. Waive those QBs, Torey Smith $8 and Charles Johnson $1 and the team would be at 16 players and $100 cap. Possible. Tribe could have elected to keep Brees for $28 but didn’t so he is out. Benny or Shades could make a move but are probably happy with Matt Ryan and Foles respectively.

On the RB front its more dicey and this is why I think his wife or one of his kids waived Foster because everyone will place a claim for $21 Q2 RB ranked top 10 overall. Did I miss the news that Foster is retiring? Stay tuned. Post your theories in the comments area below.
