This could still get interesting. Bidding for the orphaned QUnet franchise may have only just started. Even while knowing that a deal in principal is in place between Nordstrom and Barron, a third party has offered a competing bid for the QUnet franchise at a substantial premium over the publicly disclosed terms of the first deal.
Last night one of the original 4 bidders sweetend his offer via email to a KEG (165 beers) of Green Flash Imperial IPA for the QUnet franchise. It is unclear if this will force Nordstrom to up his bid in response, Barron has not responded to the offer. Bidding war anyone?
Usually every transaction is strictly governed by the QFL Constitution, but the transfer of ownership rights is blatantly missing leading to fluid situations like this one. Lame duck Commissioner Pope Paul-I is giving the situation the weekend before issuing an Executive Order (EXO) to cover future ownership changes.
From Paul.
I’ll give it another day or two to make sure there are no more issues with comp. comm. Then, I will draft some sort of EXO for all the Constitutional scholars out there, and you guys hopefully can transfer pink slips this weekend.
I was under the impression there was a formal waiting list for QFL1 teams…..while burdened by the commissionership of the deuce I have not kept a secret my desire to own a flagship team. I feel the clone leagues should serve as a formal wait list.
We should formalize the process. Deuce teams should be offered first to III owners as well. A history of league knowledge and responsible ownership should be displayed in order to move up the ranks. I believe this would also further guarantee the smooth and constant membership of the oldest leagues.
