That being said, here is some important background

1. This league is a 5th iteration of my league (the QFL), which has been around for 16 years now and has been written up in Sports Illustrated (back when it was relevant) for how unique it is.

2. The original QFL is the founding league, and controls the rule making. Rules are found here: http://www.qballers.com/QFL_Constitution.pdf

3. We have 3 other leagues in existence – QFL II – IV. Each league has 12 teams. There is no interleague play (although we may institute side leagues, and side betting to facilitate this)

5. How will your team be folded in? First, each team from your league will be using the same rules. Second, each team from your league will contribute $25 to a pool across all QFLs. The best team across all QFLs gets a majority of the money.

6. Because our rules are customized, we require something better than yahoo, espn and CBS. We use a site called fantrax. It’s about 80 bucks per year and with a click of a button we can replicate our league rules, schedules, etc.

7. You can keep up to 8 players per year, whose salaries will transfer to this year (you have a $100 spending cap). You can additionally “keep” 2 “minor leaguers,” which could give you up to 10 keepers.

9. There is only one free agency period per week. It is a blind bidding system.

10. You will have to set an auction date. The auction can be done electronically using fantrax. The first year is very easy because all players are available (i.e., no one has been kept, duh).
