Dan is sleeping on it
Dan is sleeping on it
As predicted in an earlier post, a third fiasco relating to Commissioner Dan’s running of QFL-2 has come to light. This is now a seemingly weekly occurrence. This time Dan’s “oversight” gave a clear advantage to a team by allowing them more time than they should have had to correct their roster and ultimately allowed the waiving of an injured Moreno rather than another player had the rules been properly enforced pre-Moreno injury. Should this advantaged team be allowed to win SuperQuince?

The situation is innocent enough according to Paul B., the Moreno dropper.

It was quickly resolved.

Last Thursday late morning Dan sent an email fining Quahogs for messing up an intended tree bid, but he did not explain what curative steps he took. He said it involved Hoyer and Davis.

Qonies had bid on Hoyer, but only $1. Quahogs had bid $3. Quahogs dropped Hoyer an hour or two before Dan’s email. Before Dan’s email I had taken a cursory look at Quahogs transactions to see if the Hoyer drop was legal and I thought it looked fine. He’d made three adds that night with 2 corresponding drops. He ended up with 18 players but a $101 cap figure before the drop- so it wasn’t legal. That was how Dan got involved, I believe by Quahogs request. He used commish power to drop Hoyer retroactively like he never made the bid, but he did not review denied FA bids to place Hoyer properly.

I hadn’t put all that together until Tuesday night. I expected Hoyer to be on waivers. When I couldn’t find him on waivers I emailed the league. Then I retraced the whole thing to find Qonies should have been awarded Hoyer based on the commish’s decision. I requested he be added to my roster before FA was run on Wednesday night. Only Brockman bitched but then relented. Dan fixed it Wednesday morning. Just some jawing afterward.

Ahh, but for the juicy details from Brockman.

Paul curiously left the part out how he dropped Moreno to make his roster legal after being awarded Hoyer 5 days late. If this had been done timely and correctly, Paul would have not dropped Moreno and been forced to drop another player.

Also, no mention of how or why after week fucking 5 we would be forgiving people that fuck up tree bids. This is the QFL, not your family league.

Agreed. People. Tree bids are not hard. The key is setting the “Max # Claims per Group:” to 1.

Is it time to impeach Commissioner Dan? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind as he is suffering from the worst case of Commissioner jinx I have ever seen at 0-6.

  1. Go to fantrax > Team > My team Preferences. Then adjust max claims per group to 1. This is your default. It’s easy
