Post-Draft Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings

I can say with certainty now that the NFL Draft is over that; the 2010 fantasy football rookie class is the worst in recent memory. Main stream media may talk about it being a talent deep year for NFL rookies, but it’s looking like a horrible year for fantasy football rookies.  In terms of new talent entering the league…

…only four pretty obvious prospects stand out;

#1 Ryan Mathews

#2 Jahvid Best

#3 CJ Spiller

#4 Dez Bryant

After them there is a lot of uncertainty. This is a rough early ranking of the 2010 class based on QFL School rules.

#5 Ben Tate (RB) Texans - Combine star. Picked 58th overall.  Only thunder to Slaton’s lightning or more? Best bet out of the rest of 2010 class to be more.

#6 Golden Tate (WR) Seahawks – How long will Hasselbeck stay alive?

#7 Arrelious Benn (WR) Bucs – Will be given every chance to be their #1 WR.

#8 Jonathan Dwyer (RB) Steelers – Worth stashing away given Steelers run first philosophy. Scary he went in the 6th round, 8 picks after fellow RB Deji Karim.

#9 Joe McKnight (RB) Jets – Leon’s replacement will have value.

#10 Montario Hardesty (RB) Browns – This is the 8th RB drafted by Cleveland in the last 11 years. James Davis and Jerome Harrison already there too.

#11 Jermaine Gresham (TE) Bengals – Injured all last year. 21st pick overall tho. But Bengals aren’t known for using TE in passing game.

#12 Dexter McCluster (RB) Chiefs – Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles there but Chiefs still take McCluster with 36th pick. Seems like they have McCluster in mind for something.

#13 Jimmy Clausen (QB) Panthers – Clausen’s situation is much better than Bradford’s.

#14 Sam Bradford (QB) Rams – QBs with no weapons take years to develop.

#15 Toby Gerhart (RB) Vikings – Especially valuable to Peterson owners.

#16 Anthony Dixon (RB) 49ers – Gore owners might as well take him just in case.

#17 Brandon LaFell (WR) Panthers – Steve Smith heir apparent?

#18 Taylor Price (WR) Pats – Some one for Tate lovers to watch.

# 19 Tim Tebow (QB) Broncos – Can’t believe he went in the first round and it wasn’t to Jaguars.

#20 Demaryius Thomas (WR) Broncos – Selected 22nd so they have to use him.

#21 Ed Dickson (TE) Ravens – Todd Heap’s replacement?

#22 Colt McCoy (QB) Browns – Poor Colt.

#23 Rob Gronkowski (TE) Pats – Not that Ben Watson was all that, but he was supposed to be…

#24 Damian Williams (WR) Titans – Didn’t they just draft Kenny Britt?
